Frequently Asked Questions

Should I take off the bracelet while swimming?

When a child is intentionally swimming, we recommend removing the bracelet.

We chose this approach deliberately: it's often easier and safer to remove the bracelet than to switch a device off and remember to turn it back on later. This is especially true when supervising multiple children.

Kidô is designed to provide an extra layer of protection when children are playing around water, not during active swimming.

How does the distance alarm work?

Kidô was primarily designed as a Water Safety Alarm for Kids. The distance alert is an additional safety feature that warns parents when the connection between the child bracelet and the parent hub is lost.

Under ideal conditions, the maximum range is approximately 90 metres. The actual distance may vary depending on the environment, including walls, buildings, metal structures, vegetation or other obstacles.

The distance alert is not a GPS tracker and does not provide the child’s location. Instead, it immediately alerts parents when a child moves beyond the communication range of the hub, allowing them to react quickly.

The distance threshold is fixed and cannot be adjusted in the current version of Kidô.
